FAMILY FRIENDLY BEACHES IN ST. LUCIE

In St. Lucie, we go to the beach year-round. So it’s always a great time to bring the whole family out for an amazing day out at one of our top family-friendly beaches.

Pepper Park Beach

Beachgoers at Pepper Park enjoy an array of amenities other than the beautiful blue waters. There are tennis courts, a softball field, picnic pavilions, paved parking, basketball courts, playground, showers, and restrooms. This lifeguarded beach park is a popular location for snorkeling and diving offshore, as there are several shallow near-shore reefs located roughly 100 yards off the beach. After a few hours at the beach, head to the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum which is located within the park.

Family-Friendly Beaches

Walton Rocks Beach

Walton Rocks Beach is a fun beach option for the family who wants to bring their furry friends along with them, as this is St. Lucie’s dog-friendly beach. Walton Rocks also provides great waves for surfing and the perfect shores for shelling.

Waveland Beach

Waveland Beach is located on South Hutchinson Island and is very popular with families visiting St. Lucie and for our locals. With a lifeguard on duty, restrooms, showers and more, this beach has the amenities you need for a great beach day. Waveland offers free parking and is also the starting point of the 13.2-mile bike path that takes riders north along A1A all the way to south Fort Pierce.

South Causeway Beach

Located along the Fort Pierce Inlet, families can enjoy the view of boats heading out for the day or just catch some rays at this easy-access beach. The South Causeway Beach is right off of the bridge to South Hutchinson Island, just a short walk from the St. Lucie County Aquarium and St. Lucie Regional History Center.  The South Causeway Beach is ideal for families who want a “beach day” but would like to stay a little closer to town and don’t want to worry about large waves or currents.
Family-Friendly Beaches

Frederick Douglass Park

Located on South Hutchinson Island,(and like many of St. Lucie’s beaches) Frederick Douglass Memorial Park is situated along an undeveloped stretch of coastline giving families a truly natural and serene beach experience. The park offers great amenities such as restrooms and covered picnic pavilions. It’s most famous trait is that this beach offers the rare opportunity to ride horseback on the beach. Visit Tours on Horseback’s website here.

See you at the beach!
