How To Get To & Around St. Lucie

St. Lucie County is on Florida’s East Coast, southeast of Orlando and about one hour north (by car) of West Palm Beach. It is easily accessible by two of Florida’s main highways—I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. 

If you are arriving by commercial or private plane, there are several airports offering rental car or shuttle services to bring you here:

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is just two hours by car.

Even closer is Melbourne International Airport (MLB). MLB is about an hour away by car.

If Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is your destination, your commute to St. Lucie County should be just under an hour.

And if you decide to fly into Miami (MIA) or Fort Lauderdale (FLL) you can reach St. Lucie County between 2-3 hours depending on traffic.

Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB) is just 30 minutes away and offers flights to and from Newark, New Jersey and Bar Harbor, Maine.

Traveling in your own private aircraft? Lucky you! St. Lucie County has its own general aviation airport and US. Border Patrol and Customs Office. US. Border Patrol and Custom’s office hours are 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.  Touch down at Treasure Coast International Airport and be just minutes away from all the exciting things to do and places to stay.

If you are arriving by automobile, two major state roadways serve St. Lucie County: Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95. Florida’s Turnpike has exits for both Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce. If you’re traveling along I-95, look for exits 114 through 138, which serve as access points into Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie and Hutchinson Island.

Taking the scenic route and navigating your vessel into St. Lucie County? Travel via the Fort Pierce Inlet from the Atlantic Ocean or along the coast on the Intracoastal Waterway. Many full-service marinas and marine service providers will make your stay productive and convenient.
